'J Class Yachts - Their History from the 30's til Today'
presented by Rick Delfosse of Norwalk Cove and Rex Marine
The J Class has its roots in the oldest sporting race in the world, The America's Cup. This international event was born from an annual race around the Isle of Wight in Great Britain, hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron, that was originally called the '100 Guinea Cup'.
Our expert speaker will cover the history of these incredible 130 foot yachts with photos from his personal files and movie clips of old.
Come and hear about such beauties as Shamrock V and how Endeavour was rescued from the mud, as well as the renaissance of the new J Class yachts that raced in Bermuda and Newport this year.
